  Thai language version

Baang Krachao is a peninsula on the west side of the Chayo Phraya river. Although it belongs to Samut Sakhon province it is actually right in the heart of Bangkok.
Since 1977 zoned as a conservation area,  Baang Krachao today consists of tropical farmlands where buildings are not allowed to exceed the height of the palm trees.
No high-rises, no cars and no pollution!
Baang Krachao, one of the best places for cyclists and known to foreign travellers, is virtually unknown among Thais.

Centrally located on Baang Krachao is the beautiful 17 year-old, 200-rai Si Nakhon Keun Kan Park, locally known as Suan Klang Central Park.

If you avoid getting stuck in a traffic jam you can reach Baang Krachao from almost anywhere in central Bangkok within 25 minutes:

  1. Take a taxi to one of three small piers at the Chayo Phraya river. Bang Na, Klong Toei Nok or Chong Nonsee.
  2. A longtail boat will take you to the opposite side of the river.
  3. At the shore of Baang Krachao you can either rent a bycicle or take a motorcycle taxi to the park.

Baang Krachao is one of Bangkok’s very few places suitable for cyclists.
