The buddhist temple Wat Chalong is located at the road connecting the town of Chalong with Phuket town on Phuket.
The main pagoda (Chedi) of Wat Chalong in Phuket has a remarkable and uncommon square 3-story layout.
Amongst Buddhists Wat Chalong (Thai: วัดฉลอง or วัดไชยธาราราม) is the most important of the 29 buddhist temples of Phuket. It has been dedicated to two highly venerable monks, Luang Pho Chaem (หลวงพ่อแช่ม) and Luang Pho Chuang (หลวงพ่อช่วง), who with their knowledge of herbal medicine helped injured tin miners during a rebellion in 1876.

Chalong bay, Phuket

A “sunrise” bay at the southeastern part of Phuket.
Chalong bay has a well developed visitor’s infrastructure with many different offers regarding accomodation, food, sports and entertainment. It is less crowded than Phatong beach which is 10 km away on Phuket’s west side, separated by ridge of hills.
At the center of Chalong bay is the town of Chalong, astarting point for diving tours in southern Phuket. The tide in the bay is rather shallow. A long pier that can easily be seen on satellite images has been constructed to dock the tour boats there.
South from Chalong town is Friendship beach with several resorts and restaurants and the nearby island Koh Lon.
The northeast section of Chalong bay is formed by Cape Phanwa, itself a famous scenic viewpoint.

Cape Promthep (Laem Promthep), Phuket

Cape Promthep is a headland stretching out to the sea, forming the extreme south end of Phuket.
“Prom” is Thai for the Hindu term, “Brahma,” signifying purity, and “Thep” means ‘God.’
From Cape Promthep you have an excellent view of the “half moon”” bay housing Nai Harn Beach.
The site also has a lighthouse with an observation level.

The Big Buddha of Khao Nakkerd, Karon, Phuket

Located on Nakkerd Hill (Khao Nakkerd) towering over Karon and located between Karon on the west side and Chalong on the east side, the hilltop with the Big Buddha statue called "Phraputthamingmongkol Eaknakakeeree" offers the most marvellous view over Chalong bay and southern Phuket.
The massive statue itself is 45 m high and has a base diameter of 25 m.

The small road leading uphill can only be accessed at Phuket’s east side from the road connecting Phuket town and Chalong.

It is easy enough to find British or Irish pubs in the tourist areas of Bangkok around Sukhumvit Rd., Khao Sarn Rd., etc.

A countryside pub surrounded by tropical flora and palm trees in Thailand’s South can be quite an eyecatcher, though.
